Hamrick Truck Driving School, Inc. offers vocational courses
in professional truck-driving training.
The school is dedicated to meeting and exceeding minimum standards
in the best interest of the school and the community it serves.
An underlying theme is self-improvement through constant self-evaluation,
participation in professional organizations and the upgrading
of all aspects of the school. Hamrick Truck Driving School,
Inc. was established in 1980 under the direction of its founder
and president, Denver Hamrick. The training site, located at
1156 Medina Road in Medina, Ohio, is staffed with professionally
trained, industry-oriented drivers. Courses provide the knowledge
and practical training that have become trademarks of Hamrick
graduates.
Hamrick truck Driving School is licensed by the Ohio Department
of Highway Safety. Our instructors are former professional semi-drivers
with years of experience, enabling them to train students to
become an asset to the industry.
TRAINING GRANTS
Hamrick truck Driving School, Inc. is an approved provider
for the Workforce Investment Act. This means that individuals
who are low income or unemployed may qualify for training grants
from area agencies. There are various circumstances where a
person may qualify for benefits.
VETERANS
The school is approved for the training of Veterans by the
Department of Education State Approving Agency for Veterans
training. There are a number of time frames and circumstances
where a veteran may qualify for benefits.
TUITION REPAYMENT
There are a number of trucking companies that will reimburse
students for their tuition. Reimbursement amounts range from
$1,500 to $5,000.

Hamrick truck Driving School is accredited by the Accrediting
Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. Since
its establishment in 1979, Hamrick truck Driving School has
trained and placed thousands of people into truck driving careers.
In addition to helping people, establish a new career and restoring
their confidence, owner Denver Hamrick takes pride in giving
students the means to provide a better standard of living for
their families.
For two consecutive years, Hamrick has received awards for
their placement performance. This includes recognition by the
Ohio State House of Representatives and accolades for training
Institution of the Year from the Lorain County Employment training
Association. The 26 instructors at Hamrick are licensed by the
Ohio Department of Highway Safety. Two of them are certified
by the National Safety Council to provide defensive driving
certification as well.
Classes for tractor-trailer and straight truck driving can
set you on the road to a new career. Full time, part time, weekday
and weekend classes are all available. Students often have jobs
prior to graduation. Students are prepared for the CDL Skills
Test and, if they should have difficulty passing, additional
training is provided at no charge. An average of 25-35 major
trucking firms recruit onsite each month. In addition, some
250-280 job orders are called into the school each year, offering
graduates a multitude of opportunity. Working hand-in-hand with
prospective employees is a tradition at Hamrick. The school
has been selected by a number of major companies to provide
customized training for their drivers.
