Being a massage therapist is not just a job; it's
a way of life! Massage therapy is a healing art with a history going
back thousands of years. The first known records of massage therapy
are from China, but the benefits of massage therapy were well known
around the world. Those traditions of long ago are the roots of
today's modern massage therapy. The demand for massage therapists
has greatly increased over the past few years with the renewed interest
in health and well-being.
Nevada Career Academy offers a 730-hour Massage
Therapy training program that is designed to prepare students to
function competently as a professional Massage Therapist in a variety
of settings. Upon completion of the program, students will have
met the requirements to be eligible to sit for the National Certification
Exam given by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage
and Bodywork.
Nevada Career Academy/GSBC Inc. is nationally accredited by the
Accrediting Commission for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET).
New classes start monthly and class size is limited to 20 students
per instructor. Day and evening classes are available. Contact the
school location for more information and start dates. Financial
Aid is available to those who qualify.
Students will learn how to communicate, understand and improve
their lives as well as their client's lives. Massage therapists
and their skills are sought by massage clinics, chiropractic offices,
health spas, beauty salons, cruise ships, sports teams, sporting
events, gyms, hospitals, residential care facilities and more! The
possibilities are limitless because a massage therapist just needs
enough room to set up his or her massage table or chair in order
to work.
Students at our school have the opportunity to work on members
of the public in the Student Massage Clinic. In the clinic, students
will learn to communicate with their clients while perfecting their
newly acquired skills during their clinic internship.
At the completion of the program, students will receive a Certificate
of Completion. Graduates of the massage therapy program will be
eligible for placement assistance. Though placement is not guaranteed,
the school will assist the student in finding suitable employment
in the massage or related fields.
Other campus locations include Academy of Professional Careers,
Golden State College and Trinity College.
