With its roots dating back to the late 19th century, Parks College
has a long history of providing quality, relevant education to students.
W.T. Parks founded the college in 1895 as Modern Business School.
In 1923, the school was renamed Parks School of Business Administration.
It was the only private business school in the Denver area to be
accredited according to college and university standards.
As an accredited member of the American Association of Commercial
Colleges, Parks College trained public school teachers to instruct
or chair commercial and business departments before such training
was available in other colleges and universities.
Even during the Great Depression of the 1930s, Parks College remained
ahead of the curve by continuing to educate students for employment
in the business industry.
Throughout the years, the parent campus of Parks College moved
to various locations in the greater Denver area. In response to
a growing student body, the college settled into its current location
in 1987. The school is located in the northern metropolitan town
of Thornton, Colorado.
The college became Parks Junior College until its name was changed
a final time in 1995 to Parks College.
In 1996, Parks College was acquired by Rhodes Colleges, Inc. (RCi).
Rhodes Colleges, Inc. is a branch of Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (CCi),
which consists of more than 80 postsecondary learning institutions
throughout the United States.
The entire college system is dedicated to the notion that students
should have the opportunity to reach their full academic and professional
potential. To that end, it is committed to developing a desire for
knowledge and the skills necessary for successful, life-long learning
in all students.
The Arlington, Virginia, location of Parks College opened its doors
in 2001 as a branch campus of the Thornton, Colorado, location.
