Westwood College of Aviation Technology–Los Angeles, Inglewood is highly committed to its mission of providing the aviation industry with
technicians who become industry role models. In 2002, it expanded its
focus by implementing associate-degree technology programs. It is also
focused on maintaining a positive and cooperative environment and
working collaboratively with employers so that its graduates are prepared
to enter the maintenance training field with confidence.


Special Features The campus is conveniently located near Los Angeles International Airport. The facility is one of the largest of its kind and consists of two hangars and one administrative/classroom building. The school’s program is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Financial Aid Westwood College participates in a variety of financial aid programs, including the Federal Pell Grant, the FFEL Stafford Student Loan (subsidized and unsubsidized), Plus loans, the Federal Perkins Loan, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), the Westwood High School Scholarship Program, and educational assistance loans. Other types of financial aid may be available depending on individual student eligibility. Students should check with the Admissions Office for VA-approved benefits.


Accreditation

The school is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). Westwood College of Aviation Technology, Inglewood, has a branch campus, Westwood College of Aviation Technology–Houston in Texas.


The aviation programs at WCAT–LAX are approved, certified, and
monitored by the Federal Aviation Amdinistration, part 147.
Admissions Successful candidates must have a high school diploma or GED credential. Students must score 16 or higher on the Wonderlic Entrance Exam. In accordance with FAA requirements, students must read, write, comprehend, and speak English proficiently. Enrollment To enroll, candidates must submit an application for admission, be interviewed by an admissions representative, submit a registration

Program Description

The Inglewood campus offers a certificate
program in Airframe and
Powerplant, Airframe only, Powerplant
only, Airframe Add-On, and Powerplant
Add-On. In addition, it offers associate
degrees in Graphic Design and Multimedia
and Computer Network Engineering.
