Westwood College of Technology, Los Angeles, is committed to a positive

Its objective is to graduate confident, job-qualified individuals
prepared to
enter career fields of their choice. The College is affiliated with
other
Westwood Colleges, the first of which was founded in Denver, Colorado,
in 1953.
Special Features
Westwood College of Technology places a high value on the industry
experience faculty members brings to the classroom. While many faculty
members have earned their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in their
fields, Westwood looks for a combination of industry experience,
educational training in the subject area, and prior teaching experience
to ensure that
students receive a balanced education utilizing industry-relevant
equipment.
Financial Aid/Scholarships
Westwood College participates in a variety of financial aid programs,
including the Federal Pell Grant, the FFEL Stafford Student Loan
(subsidized and unsubsidized), PLUS Loans, the Federal Perkins Loan,
the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG),
the
Westwood High School Scholarship Program, and educational assistance
loans. Other types of financial aid may be available depending on
individual student eligibility. Students should check with the Admissions
Office for VA-approved benefits.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition averages $3540 per ten-week term with five terms annually.
Fees,
books, materials, and tools range from $379 to $621 per term. Students
should consult the school catalog for detailed information.
Accreditation
Westwood College is accredited by the Accrediting Council of Independent
Colleges and Schools (ACICS). This accreditation guides the College
in its clearly defined mission and its aspirations to high standards
to
ensure high-quality programs and the human, physical, and financial
resources to accomplish its mission.
Admissions
Successful candidates for Westwood are
required to have a high school diploma or
GED certificate. Applicants must complete an
acceptance application and either receive a
composite minimum score of 17 on the ACT
or 920 on the SAT or achieve the required
scores on the Accuplacer Computerized
Placement Test. To enroll, candidates complete
an admissions application, are interviewed
by an admissions representative,
submit a registration fee, and upon completion
of testing, attend an acceptance interview
to verify their commitment to begin
training.
